Acknowledge

Interviewers need to be confident that you have understood their questions and why they have been asked. Acknowledging the question has 3 purposes:

A) It lets the interviewer know that you have understood the question’s relevance.

B) It allows you to rephrase the question into your pre-prepared response.

Example:

Interviewer: “Give me an example of when you worked in a team.”

Acknowledge: “Being a team player and having successful people in the team is one of the vital ingredients in meeting objectives.”

C) Acknowledging buys 10 -15 seconds for your brain to catch up and recall your response.
