Objectives

In this course Managers will learn how to act as a Leader and a Coach in developing people through situational leadership to achieve their full job potential.

Suited to all staff with a leadership or mentoring role.

At the end of this highly interactive course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of their natural leadership Style.
  • Recognise the characteristics of the most effective leaders and how these characteristics impact on the performance of individual Managers.
  • Promote the Manager as a leader and coach in developing people through situational leadership to achieve their full job potential.
  • Structure the task requirements of people in such a manner that promotes self-motivation to achieve the agreed objectives.
  • Provide a flexible leadership style to suit the personal development stage of each person.
  • Appraise performance in "coaching" sessions with individual people to encourage development of their task skills.
  • Recognise the benefits of delegation and to delegate to only those who have the competence and commitment to carry out the task.
  • Improve the performance of de-motivated personnel through a six-step formula that promotes activity with objectives.
  • Analyse the most important motivational factors of individual people and position the leadership style to enhance motivation.
